Hi,
I'm still having problem with this extension. Few initial versions used to work properly but the last ones stopped to work. The only message I get is "No results found. Sando is still performing its initial index of this project, results may be incomplete.".

I've VS 2010 professional.

Hi Torpederos,

Thanks for reporting this issue! Here are a few things you could try to help us diagnose and fix your issue.
  • Ensure you have the latest from Visual Studio Gallery http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/06f39a31-20ce-408c-afee-8a02b484db1c. The latest is 1.4.2000.2500 and I just tested it on VS2010 Ultimate with a C# project (https://rrrsroguelike.codeplex.com/) and was able to search.
  • Send us your log files, found in the directory specified under Tools > Options > Sando in the filed "Extension points directory". The log files are of the format Sando<id + date>.log. You can send them directly to me via my email at the us.abb.com domain, user name david.shepherd. You can contact me via twitter (davidcshepherd) as well if you have any problems with that address.
  • Point us to the project that you're working on, if it is open source, so we can test directly for you.
We're very happy to help, even via a Google Hangout, as we are dedicated to supporting our early adopters!

All the best,
Dave

I've the latest version.
It's very strange because in configuration window path to "extension points directory" is : "C:\Users\abc\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\Extensions\David Shepherd, Bartosz Ropski, Kostadin Damevski\Sando Code Search Tool\0.420", but extension is installed in "c:\Users\abc\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\Extensions\Bartosz Ropski, Kostadin Damevski, Xi Ge\Sando Code Search Tool\1.4.2000.2500\".

When I changed this path to right one, for one solution started to work but only indexed one time. New things are invisible when searching.

I installed Sando 0.420 into VS2010, opened several projects, then upgraded to the current Sando and search still worked for me. However, I was able to reproduce the incorrect path bug. I saw the 0.420 path in the "extension points directory" after the upgrade, which is wrong. This should be corrected in the latest revision: 1.4.2100.2600. Please try this version and see if the path is now correct.
When I changed this path to right one, for one solution started to work but only indexed one time.
Great! We must be getting closer. Note that Sando works by indexing only one time and then listening to file saves, so it doesn't waste your CPU every time you open the same project.
New things are invisible when searching.
Hmmmm... this sounds like a bug. What do you mean by "new things"? Are you talking about lines that were added to an existing file (.cs, .cpp, or xaml file)? If so, once you press save this file should be reindexed and appear in Sando searches within about 10s in the worst case. If not, let me know and we can look into it further.

I've found solution for my problem. Everything is ok when I first start Visual Studio and then from "start page" open my project. Problem occurs when I'm opening project from outside Visual Studio i.e. Windows Explorer by clicking in .sln file.

Hi Torpederos,

Thanks again for all of your feedback, it is valued very much!

For this particular error, did it cause you any problem? Did Sando or VS crash? Note that we log this error for informational purposes but I hope that this exception is caught and doesn't cause any problems for the user. Please let me know if it causes any problems for you and we will begin work on it ASAP.

All the best,
David

P.S., Even if it doesn't cause any crash for you we'll begin working on eliminating that error message from the log.

It doesn't cause any problems. I saw it when trying to resolve former problem.
